With roots in both Eastern and Western cultures, massage is a natural, drug-free way to manage stress, promote health and to reduce fatigue and pain of injury. Massage is a scientific, systematic and skillful application of touch and manipulation of the soft tissues of the body.

A massage session improves circulation and body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue. Through massage, the effects of pain and stress are replaced with balanced energy and vitality. Done with frequency, massage provides greater long-term benefits.

Swedish Massage
This classic therapeutic massage is designed to relieve muscle tension and renew your body. Long flowing strokes and other techniques such as kneading and compression work on the skin and superficial layers of muscles to increase circulation and reduce tension throughout the body.

Myofascial Release
Fascia is a connective tissue that is wrapped around everything in the body. When it gets stuck together, joints may be stiff and your range of motion reduced. Manipulation of soft tissue and firm, sustained pressure loosens the fascia (“releases” it), improving circulation and allowing freer movement.

Trigger Point Therapy
This “hurts so good” technique relieves areas of chronic pain or stiffness by applying firm strokes and sustained pressure to specific points on the body to unlock tight, tired or overworked muscles and inhibit the stress/tension/pain cycle. This is generally used in combination with Swedish techniques to release chronic tension and enhance your body's ability to heal.

Various techniques, including Reiki and aromatherapy, are combined to provide a massage experience that is tailored to you.

Your First Session

Before the Massage
  • You will be asked to fill out a brief medical history;
  • Discuss focal points and what you are looking for in the massage;
  • Avoid wearing or remove jewelry that could interfere with your massage or that you do not want to get massage cream on;
  • You will have complete privacy for undressing and getting on the massage table.

During the Massage
  • Wearing underpants is optional – draping techniques are employed so that only the area being worked with is uncovered. Modesty and privacy is honored at all times;

  • Always provide feedback if the pressure is too much or too little, or if you are too warm or cool;
  • Speak up if something makes you uncomfortable – remember, a massage is about making you feel comfortable, secure and pampered;
  • To receive best results, focus on your breath and body. Talking will prevent this. However, if you feel the need to chat - feel free. Keep in mind that your decision to remain quiet during a massage should not restrict you from asking questions or communicating your needs.
After the Massage
  • Once the session has ended you will have time to slowly bring yourself back from the relaxed state you are in, dress and get oriented. If you happen to fall asleep, you will be gently woken;
  • Give feedback, which will allow any necessary alterations to be made to your next treatment for a more pleasurable experience;
  • Drink plenty of water and allow yourself some down-time.

During this type of work it is not unusual to trigger emotions. Allow yourself to release them and do not feel embarrassed. If you wish to cry, do so. If you want to laugh, feel free. If you wish to talk about it, rest assured the conversation will remain completely confidential.

Please understand however, that I am not trained in psychology and cannot give feedback. I am simply prepared to listen and support you.
